What is Oncology Massage?

Oncology Massage is a specially designed combination of various bodywork modalities (Acupressure, Swedish massage, etc.) designed specifically for people living with cancer. The focus is placed on improving the immune system and blood circulation, which helps increase a person’s energy level, and appetite. Candidates for Oncology Massage include:

  • Chemotherapy patients
  • Patients receiving radiation treatments
  • Pre- and post-surgical cancer patients
  • Cancer patients in remission/still recovering from treatments
  • A person who has had one or more lymph nodes removed

What’s Involved?

Your Oncology Massage will take approximately 90 minutes, and involves two steps:

  1. A pre-massage consultation with Hilary to discuss your specific condition, needs, and wants, and
  2. The massage, which lasts 60 minutes

All Oncology massages take place at Massage for Health, located within Cypress Day Spa in Santa Rosa, California. The $90 fee includes both the consultation and the massage.
